We understand how important it is to feel confident and supported in these moments. That’s why we’re offering this free webinar for all school staff—to provide practical tools and techniques to help you navigate these conversations with clarity and confidence.

However, the overlap between mental health disorders and drug use is huge with practical consequences for the person, their family, and treatment access. This webinar will cover the most commonly used drugs, their pleasures and risks, links to common mental health conditions and help you recognise when they might be causing problems. Adolescent issues for autistic teenagers with Prof. Tony Attwood, International best-selling Author and Clinical Psychologist specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Wednesday 2nd April, 9:30 am (BST)
Adolescence is a time of enormous change, and change can be particularly challenging for autistic teenagers. There is so much for them to navigate including their changing bodies, personal hygiene, the re-wiring of their brains, intense emotions, seeking self-identity, autonomy, changes in friendships, and the development of romantic relationships. This webinar will provide an overview of the difficulties adolescents with autism experience, and best practices for supporting them through their transition into adulthood. This webinar is based on extensive clinical and family experience and relevant research literature.

Calming the storm: Navigating challenging behaviour in ASD and ADHD With: Clare Price, Mental Health Specialist, Clinical Supervisor and CBT Therapist, Wednesday 7th May, 6:30 pm (BST)
This webinar will highlight the importance of understanding challenging behaviour when it comes to supporting children and young people with ASD and ADHD. Clare will define how challenging behaviour presents in ASD and ADHD and outline potential triggers and root causes. Finally, we will look at effective strategies for managing challenging behaviours, including positive reinforcement, what to do in moments of crisis, emotional regulation skills, and collaborative techniques to try with your child.

Self-harm awareness with Satveer Nijjar, Author, Speaker, and Founder of Attention Seekers? Training, Wednesday 11th June, 6:30pm (BST)
Self-harm is an issue that is impacting more and more young people, whether it is them who is self-harming, or supporting a friend/loved one. This webinar aims to improve understanding of self-harm behaviours to in turn help improve responses. Satveer will provide tips on communicating with your young person in relation to their mental health, looking at language use – what to say and what not to say. She will also outline the potential signs and indicators of self-harm, what the triggers might be, the function of self-harm behaviours, and how to broach suspected self-harm. The session is suitable for all, irrespective as to whether they have experienced self-harm or not.
